UNIMORE organized the event “Together with Iranian women and against all forms of discrimination” aimed to raise awareness on the difficult situation faced by women from Iran. The event was done in collaboration with Rosa Bianca, a volunteering association from Modena (Italy) working against discrimination, and the Municipality of Modena. The event, as shown by the flyer, consisted in a first round table interdisciplinary discussion, with the presence of academic psychologists, historians, legal experts and experts of the Iranian situation. In the second part of the event, the movie OFFSIDE by Jafar Panahi was shown. Finally, an Iranian woman studying at UNIMORE testified on the situation of Iranian women in Iran.
The event was attended to by politician representatives (Modena Council Member for Culture, Youth Policy and University City, Modena Council Member for Education, Professional Training, Sport, Equal Opportunities), and UNIMORE representatives (Delegate of the rector for Equal Opportunities, Delegate of the Rector for Disability), and representatives of football associations (Reggiana Calcio).

Concerning the signed attendance list (with signatures):
– 37 citizens
– 57 students/professors from UNIMORE
– 1 from Municipality of Modena
– 2 from Association Rosa Bianca

In addition to these 97 participants, the event was attended to by several (approximately 30) participants who did not sign the list.

The event was publicised on the UNIMORE website, and UNIMORE also had a press release about it.
